Everything can be said to be part of human nature when humans engage in it on a large scale. This includes the religious ideas you seem so vehemently distasteful of.
Why should we cling to past positions of morality when we've collectively come to the conclusion that our new morality is better? Even if some human institution has influenced worldviews to the point of changing collective societal morality (this is also considered part of human nature), why is that automatically a bad thing? Why is it absurd? Why is it distasteful? Why should a continually evolving social species revert to some previously held behavior or belief unless there is some kind of benefit for doing so?
