Music Banter - View Single Post - Do any of you agree with Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Artists of all Time list?

I feel like these kind of lists are made by magazines (in particular Rolling Stone) just to get people to read and argue over them, but I just kinda scrolled through the list and here are a few of my thoughts about it:

-I don't think Nirvana, U2, or Bruce Springsteen should be in the top 30
-The Clash (#28) and The Who (#29) should be swapped.
-There's some I wouldn't put on there, like The Police and the Beastie Boys
-Despite whoever dislikes Aretha Franklin, she deserves to be in the top 10

And am I missing something, or is The Band supposedly amazing?

edit; by that i mean I don't understand why they're on there, sorry if I worded that weird :/
