I'd probably say...
1. The Beatles
2. The Kinks
3. Small Faces
4. The Rolling Stones
5. The Who
Small Faces never released as much great work as the Stones or or the Who, but I think I like them more than either. Their debut is one of my favorite 60s party albums, it grooves hard, and I'm convinced Steve Marriot has one of the most rock and roll ready singing voices ever. The lyrics don't live up to it usually but they work on that over the next few releases. I've never heard a bad album by them...I guess they just speak to me! Stones and Who are great though.
Yardbirds should be on there but I'm just not familiar enough with them to put them on there.
