The Anaesthete (2013)
One of my favorite atmospheric sludge metal/post-metal bands. Their 2005 debut album
The Galilean Satellites was an ambitious project and really showcased their skills in both ambient electronic music and metal. Their 2007 album
Wake/Lift was competently put together and played well, but lacked the same ambition their debut did. 2010's
A Determinism of Morality was more focused and featured their best songwriting and song arrangements, but I think
The Anaesthete may be their best album to date.
Shame about the cover though, especially given their last three.
