Ok so having finally listened to the whole album a few times, I think it's really good, Pecknold is a naturual lyricist and effortless songwriter and can really set a song up well; he's probably one of the strongest songwriters in his scene that i'm aware of right now. I don't consider it a masterpiece like I do Grizzly Bear's newest album, maybe because the folk-centrism kind of limits it for me (though it has its own sense of folkiness aside from the usual brand), or because it's so personal it doesn't show the same kind of ambition (however, it definitely has its own ambitions). The cohesion isn't always the best, it is there, but i dunno, it moves a little funny for me sometimes.
So I'd give it about a 4. Or great for this thread.
