Jodorowsky's Dune
first and foremost....i am so happy i got a chance to see this in the theater
an empty theater at that.....there was one other person at the beginning of the film and he walk about 10 minutes into it...perhaps he thought it actually was the movie
a documentary about the pre-production of what could have been one of the greatest films of all time....obviously written and directed by the crazy acid head surrealist Alejandro Jodorowsky....set and character designs by H.R. Giger, Dan O'Bannon, and Jean "Moebius" Giraud....set to star in it were David Carradine, Mic Jager, Salvador Dali, Orson Wells....with a soundtrack by both pink Floyd and Magma
what the hell could go wrong?
it's a real shame that this film was never made....as i'm sure it would have been amazing....just watching a documentary about made me feel like i was on acid
the good news is that Jodorowsky has said that he feels the
VERY* detailed storyboards should and most likely will be turned into an animated feature....still really only a glimmer of what could have been
obviously a great film for fans of sci fi, the film making process, and f
ucking insane hippies who are trying to make a movie that is seriously 40 years out of time
highly suggest this one
*literally every shot he planned has it's own story board....this guy took "ambitious" to a whole new level
