They defintely released great material afer Curtis's departure, check out their album "Preacher Man." It's a very political album filled with gritty funk, it's sounds like the soundtrack to a Blaxploitation that was never released, I'd highly reccomend a full listen through, but the stand out tracks seem to be "Preacher Man" "Find the Way" " and "Color Us All Gray (I'm Lost)" absolutely great stuff. There are two emotional ballads on the seven track album that seem very out of place but other than that the album is an underappreciated gem.
