I talked to someone Hispanic once that completely jumped my throat for having the gall to even involve myself as a white person in a discussion about cultural appropriation. It was on Tumblr of course. There's definitely a point for me when it goes overboard, and there's definitely a preponderance of upper-middle class white kids majoring in gender/women's studies and/or sociology that drive that kind of mentality.

I won't put up with **** from people so wrapped up in identity politics that they forget what's really important, but at the same time, I still try to be respectful. Though I'm sure by the standards of most people around here, I'd come across as humorless and overly sensitive.
