I do like a bit of melodeath, but much of it bores me, to be honest. This was quite decent. I liked a lot of the rather fresh sounding riffs leading up to the chorus, but about 1½ minutes into the song it starts being kind of overly simple - resorting to lots of basic chugging and dull groves. I also find the singer to be pretty monotonous, although his high-pitched roar was kind of interesting at first.
Production wise, this reminded me a lot of the more recent Arch Enemy offerings and I guess I'd like it to sound less polished. There was a nice little bass fill somewhere, but otherwise the bass felt very dulled and the kick drum too.
Nice riffs in the verse though.
