unpopular opinion: I think Kendrick's lyrical acclaim, at least for TPAB, has a lot to do with him being in the right place at the right time. he didn't reinvent any wheels there, but it's topical and he's pretty self aware (though in kind of a wet blanket sort of way) of that.

and really, thematically GKMC was much more personal, and id say more powerful, anyway. I get the progression between the two albums, but id rather listen to a GKMC 2 than TPAB 2.
