Canada's changing their national anthem to be gender-neutral.

Thoughts?

Personally, I get the reason behind it, but I don't think somethin like that should be changed for the same reason buildings named after slave owners shouldn't be changed. It's historically significant. Even the pledge still says "under god", which is not only innacurate today in America's rich diversity of cultures, but was also added solely as a commendment to the cold war and anti-communisim. I don't beleive in god, but historically, I think it should stay in the pledge because it paints a picture of how the US was at the time. No one has to say the pledge, or can even skip that section if they please. Likewise, whichever part of "Oh Canada" is a tad gender-specific, it can be skipped or dismissed entirely based on the person. Of course, I'm quite disfamiliar with the lyrics, so if I'm out of line and they happen to be discriminatory in any way, let me know.

I'll check that dictionary, but in the meantime I'm impressed - as is everyone else in the world - by your eloquence, obvious accomplishments and success, and the evidence of your blazingly high intelligence.
