Yes, it was - especially in the late 60s/early 70s. Lots of guys continued the trend of doing songs inspired by spaghetti westerns - especially after the big hit movie "
The Harder They Come."
Jimmy Cliff's character is in a movie theater and is watching "
Jango" and it inspires him to become an outlaw. There are even flashbacks to the film during the final gun battle. Lots of good stuff - dub too! - that you can explore out there.
