Santeria is a religion that originated in the communities of West African descendants in Spanish speaking areas of the Caribbean. It's an offshoot of Catholicism highly focused on theatrical rituals centered around the worship of saints. Since spreading into the United States there's been some scattered controversy over animal sacrifices. American converts, especially white would be sheepshaggers, seem to delight in exaggerating the importance of goat heads and chicken blood. Animal sacrifice is a genuine part of the faith but I have my doubts about former surbanites dancing around like drunk blood soaked butchers. Leave the appropriation to Lisa Bonet, crackers.
