here's a good story about not voting
earlier this year we had a provincial election. during the final 2 years of the last Premier's run, he decided that rather than investing in our failing education system, he would put money into the Bluenose II. a dated replica of a ****ing fishing boat.
anyway, eventually it was time for the teachers union and the government to renegotiate their contracts, and surprise surprise, no agreement could be reached as we couldn't afford any sort of financial commitment because education is less important than MLAs pensions
Nova Scotia MLAs to get pension eligibility after 2 years - Nova Scotia - CBC News. this led to a battle that lated for months, work to rule, strikes, all that and more. great for the students, right?
so long story short, everyone hated the guy, complained about him 24/7. the election rolls around and... record low voting. guess what? he gets back in with a majority government once again!
