Yes. I’ve had conversations with southern Republicans who respect Jihadists more than a secular liberal.
Many Hispanics are close to single issue pro-life voters.
Ethnic Chinese and Vietnamese often side with the Republican hard ass attitude against communism.
Also, most first and second generation ethic minorities are both racist and much more ambivalent about racism from others. Go to a large Chinatown or Koreatown and see what they really think of blacks. Ask Cubans about Mexicans. Ask Africans about American blacks. The obsession with racial tolerance is a black and white thing.
So the short walk to a big tent GOP is really very easy to imagine. It’s not inconceivable that they could keep pandering to white supremacists and only lose blacks who hardly ever vote anyway.
