Well technically I don't work, as I'm Karen's fulltime carer, but by the same token, I never have a day off. So in answer to your question I don't know.
All I know is, I don't have to go into any goddam office.
As it goes, New Year's Day is a bank holiday in Ireland, and I'm sure it is in England too. Work resumes properly Jan 2, unless Jan 1 falls on a weekend, in which case the next Monday. But this year, Jan 2.
