Being nihilistic, and using that as an excuse for misantrophy, because the world doesn't care/is a cruel place/the eventual heat death of the universe, is really just to be part of the problem.

The way a lot of extreme metal revels in negativity actually doesn't lead anyhwere constructive. It's easier to respect when it's goofy (cannibal corpse), than when it's so very serious (black metal).
