It's a game. It expects me to engage in the use of all sorts of combat mechanics, spell mechanics, etc. etc. , so I'd like those things to be fun to play around with. Nothing breaks immersion quite like getting stuck in a piece of terrain while being attacked by annoying winged creatures that refuse to be hit by more than every 17th blow.
Dragon's Dogma was a perfectly immersive RPG experience for me. I loved the environments and everything was just exciting and well crafted. Some of the most intense RPG missions I've ever played. Loved the forest areas and dark dungeons especially much.
