I love running in the winter. You just need to dress for the situation.
Do you have running shoes?
Simple winter running gear: long running tights, a beanie, cheap cotton gloves. For up top a long sleeve shirt or sweatshirt is usually enough. However, you may live in Canada or something real harsh.
I have a second pair of really heavy duty wool gloves that I bust out under 20F (with cheap gloves under). Also, I have a long sleeved tight tech shirt for similar situations.
Beyond that, a google search will probably sort you for what to look out for winter running gear.
I find that the first mile or so can be tough to get through if it's super cold and windy. After I'm warmed up it's usually all good in terms of dealing with it.
Also: don't fall.
