New album out today by Aaron Turner's post-
Isis band
SUMAC. Haven't listened yet, so don't know what to expect. Did like their first album in 2015, mostly because of the tech-sludge drumming of this
Nick Yacyshyn, who I had no prior knowings about. The participation of
Aaron Turner (which was the reason for my interest in SUMAC in the first place) I found kind of bland though, but I guess his rif***e never was that fun even in Isis (don't get me wrong; I like Isis!). The second SUMAC album and the Keiji Haino-collab didn't get fully there imo, allthough I have to confess I haven't really tried enough with the Haino one yet.
Anyhow, will most certainly spin this one later this evening:
SUMAC - Love In Shadow
And I do enjoy the Aaron Turner transformation in to a hairy caveman hippie, moving to the countryside growing vegetables and whathaveyou.
