^ Long Black Coat has some great lyrics, but Dylan's singing (O Mercy version) doesn't work for me either. I'd never heard Joan Osborne's version 'til I read your post, so thanks for the tip, MicShazam - JO does the song justice better than BD.

Not many songs have an impact on first listening like this one did on me in 1965: I was only eleven years old, playing on the floor in a neighbour's house, when this song made me snap my head round and stare at her radio.
