TBH I like the two-stage nominate then vote system because each stage accomplishes something different:-
i) nominating: a chance to talk about different members and to put forward your faves
ii) the Chief Commander of Awards, Nominations and Associated Threads winnows out the people who got less than 3 noms
iii) we get to vote on the survivors. At this stage the field has been reduced, and what I particularly like, some members turn up who wouldn't have occurred to me when I posted my noms.
If anyone doesn't like the nominating stuff, surely all you have to do is not visit the Nominations thread and just wait until the Voting thread opens:
voilá, to all intents and purposes, you have your own system of voting only.
... and while on the topic, thanks to WWWP for doing the sorting out - you are way more punctual about it than some people have been in the past.
