I've seen him say things about his mother and his ex-wife that make me think that he's felt embattled for a good portion of his life, combine that with the overactive pattern recognition of the conspiracy theorist, and I'd say he was ripe for the internet loonies to recruit him. I mean he's been crazy for longer than the alt right have existed.
