I supposed you needed to be there to really comprehend my full meaning of their impact..
Mostly agree.

Free thought so.

Blues was unlikely that dangerous.
Gospel music that inspired freedom riders was more dangerous.

I like it when they went to Middle Earth.
(The guy in Sloan would likely agree with you, though.)

Zeppelin was certainly influenced by Blues in their early career, which I guess you can say is a "black" genre, but they put their own twist on it that was completely unique

this is like saying Einstein "stole" from Newton...or Beethoven "stole" from Mozart

or James Joyce "stole" from Homer
Einstein, Beethoven, and Joyce might have more freely admitted specific influences, Zeppelin didn't.

It's just the case that artists like Zeppelin didn't so much as build on the blues as much as they ruined it

Spoiler for Led Zeppelin Long Tall Sally 1970 (Royal Albert Hall):

Spoiler for Little Richard - Long Tall Sally:

Not that it somehow retroactively makes The Chambers Brothers not amazing
like blues is a ruined version of whatever they played in Africa?

It does at the very beginning. The latter is better.

All of the bigs bands of that era were unconsciously borrowing from each other.

Quote:
The initial groove of the song is based on a traditional boogie blues rhythm used by John Lee Hooker in "Boogie Chillen'" and by Slim Harpo in "Shake Your Hips". A failed lawsuit by the copyright holder of "Boogie Chillen'" resulted in the court ruling that the rhythm was in the public domain.[7] The line "a-how-how-how-how" is quoted from John Lee Hooker's song "Boom Boom".
Spoiler for John Lee Hooker Boogie Chillen original 1948 version:

Still, ZZtop's still original enough for me, and good IMO.

I agree with your first line;

and again, as mentioned before, add that they didn't credit it as they should.

and maybe that their wealth and success revealed how racist our society was/is.

Why is RHCP most successful than Fishbone?

Another target—and maybe also a little unfairly.

Might as well add Stones and [name whatever white rapper] to this.

Those frikin' polls decades ago.

This video is 1:01:50 long and begins with some talk. Click to about 7:30, maybe listen a couple minutes.

Delta Blues—Mekong Delta that is.

I wouldn't be surprised if Plant and/or Paged jammed with him.
