On a song-to-song basis kinda thing, Tool are fine. 'Schism' and 'Vicarious' were good singles. They're like a poppier, 70's prog influenced Melvins. In that sense, I'm actually surprised they got as big as they did.

Not finding a band's subject matter or fanbase any good, however, doesn't make a band bad. It just means you don't resonate or empathize or care enough about whatever ideas they are trying to express. Isn't that the crux of MB?
