Basically this too. Sometimes I will go at it at random and just see what sounds good together. It can be pretty rewarding because sometimes you suddenly come up with something that really works.
That's sort of how this happened. I did have a somewhat of an idea of what I wanted this to sound like but I never envisioned it sounding like this. I still love it though.
