Alright, I took your advice. I'm not sure what I think of it yet, after having only given it one listen. But some first impressions:
-Definitely his most sonically varied album
-The beats were great and nothing sounded conventional
-Given the name, I appreciated the JD reference ("This is the way, step inside"). Would've been cool if they thought of a way to sneak the bass/piano of "The Eternal" into a track.
-It didn't sound, on first listen, like the songs hang together as an album as well as they do on 'Old'.
-Not as immediate as 'Old' was - I didn't hear any obvious radio hits on here like I did on 'Old'.
I'll have to spend some more time with it before my opinion is more fully-formed.
