in the context of the mid 70s the 1st Ramones lp literally saved rockNroll @ a time when it was on life support. Now leave home ESPECIALLY Rocket to russia were THE Epitome of rockNroll back on track, also was Pleasant dreams a few years later. The Ramones defined punk, & "pop punk" as does brilliant groups like the Queers, Sonic Surf City, the Travoltas etc
