Default Coldplay - A Head Full of Dreams

Quote:
This week’s blog has a review by Coldplay, with some sacred geometry on the cover. Which is probably one of my favorite things to type or talk about. This album came out around the time I moved out here to Connecticut. I didn’t like the whole album when it was released but with how cool the cover is, I came back for more listens got better as I listened to them more. Plus the title of the album is “A Head Full Of Dreams” and for as my dreams are, the title attracts me to the album sometimes. “Up & Up” is nice, has a piano going on it and a simple catchy drum pattern. “Everglow” has a piano on it also and it much slower and is really good. I don’t like slow songs and this one is good. That is how it is for a lot of Coldplay songs that are slow. This album is Coldplay’s 7th studio album also and coming after their “Ghost Stories” album, that I did a review for already on my website. I listened to “Ghost Stories” album mainly in Iowa but when I moved back out to Connecticut, Coldplay released this album. With the awesome cover it has, I listened to it a lot and haven’t stopped. The ending of the song “Birds” sucks, it just goes from fast tempo and then just stops. It goes into the song with Rihanna on it, but they could have blended “Birds” ending into the next song or something.

“Hymn for the weekend” featuring Rihanna, is probably one of the best songs on the album. Catchy beat and piano tune. Now that I type about this album, there is a lot of piano of the songs that never popped out to me. It just seemed like with this album that Coldplay can’t lose, every album they release is good but that recent newest one wasn’t that great. This album was released the first week of December in 2015, so just as I moved back here to Connecticut.

“Army of One” is sort of like two songs how it switches to something completely different towards the end. Plus on the wiki page it has “Army of One” with a bulletin note of another song. Why not just cut the track and make the album 13 or 14 songs long? This album has the word dream in it and it’s one of the album I listen to at night before bed before I dream. On the wiki page of this album and according to the band, this album was supposed to be different from “Ghost Stories”. I did a review on that album and I don’t see the difference. If they have electric guitars on this album or something that stands out that’s different, I will notice but there aren’t. Rolling stone magazine gave this album 4 stars out of 5 too, which I think it a bit high compared to other Coldplay albums. If I was rating on a 1-5 scale, I would go with 3.5 stars.
