Yeah Guybrush is right. You'll get a beautiful pattern whatever kind of orbit you choose, but it has no physical significance, and also the orbits drawn are artificial.
The only cool thing that can happen between planetary orbits, afaik, is resonance: the period of one object's orbit is a neat fraction of another's. For instance, one planet's orbit could be exactly twice of another's. That doesn't happen between earth and venus though, it's mostly a thing of planetary moons.
