The only cool thing that can happen between planetary orbits, afaik, is resonance: the period of one object's orbit is a neat fraction of another's. For instance, one planet's orbit could be exactly twice of another's. That doesn't happen between earth and venus though, it's mostly a thing of planetary moons.
