The term boomer was for the baby boomers who were born from after World War II to 1964. The early boomers were very much hippies as they would have been of age for the Vietnam War. Now, I'm a late boomer and, unfortunately, a lot of us got caught up in the greed that Ronald Reagan seemed to be offering us. I can go in my Facebook and be horrified at how many of my old classmates are trumpeting the crazy conspiracy theories.
Anyway, a lot of those hippies (though not all thankfully) eventually became conservative as they got older. If you don't believe me, check out the history of one Jerry Rubin, who went from radical left-wing Yippie to Reagan supporting stockbroker.
