Btw I’ve always loved the sound of Polish. To the naked ear it has almost no mutual intelligibility with Russian BUT apparently if you learn a few rules about how the sounds have evolved from a shared ancestor, then it’s much easier. Maybe one day I’ll get a chance to study it, who knows.

I find Russian to sound much nicer than Polish btw.
I also find it fascinating how I don't understand Russian but then suddenly there is a word or a phrase that is identical in Croatian.
