Cool the epitome of slickly produced from those decades for me is Steely Dan, especially their later albums Aja and Gaucho.

Most of what I consume these days is jazz or related and I did turn into a massive Zappa-fan over the years. But overall, as life has gotten increasingly demanding in terms of responsibilities, I don't nearly discover as much music as I used to. I've tired of much that I used to love, including most of the prog bands I listened to.

If you have some recommendations you find particularly interesting, I'd love to hear them
