I've listened to both those types of metal, and I'll agree that their lyrics are even worse than those of gangsta rap. Problem is, though... do death and black metal get played on Top 40 radio? That usually defines the mainstream, and face it, many people are mainstream music listeners. Which means more people (well, probably) listen to gangsta rap than death/black metal.
