Its both. Those kids you mentioned are white, they need a somebody they think they can relate to. Other rappers wrote about real life issues, eminem hates his mom. A kid who has never had any
realproblems have to start making up some, here comes eminem to help.
But then again i dont want to make fun of eminem for doing this. I'd rather have him exaggerate whatever minuscule drama he had to go through as oppose to talking about street life =/
