No, the centerpiece of the Lips is the exuberance of their sound; the theatricality and bombasticness, the over-the-top arrangements. And although I like the sound of his voice, his actual singing could've been a lot better. Wayne Coyne is just a darn nice guy who's lucky that his band is that good. And of course he fills a part in the band, but in my opinion, he's not as indispensable as, say, Drozd.
