Kayo Dot - Choirs of the Eye
Year: 2003
Kayo Dot's debut still sounds incredibly fresh, and oh so bloody awesome. This album is insanely
heavy but not in the sense that you might think. Yes there is a lot of metal here, but it's all about the mood, it's just insanely controlling of both your emotions and your thoughts when you listen. From the moment you put it on expect to just lose periods of time to the album without having a clue what has happened, 10 minute songs will come and go before you even notice that the last song had finished. Everything flows so well and it's just done in a way that makes it utterly brilliant. This is one to listen to when you want your metal with a massive dollop of intelligence.
