The first couple of their albums were straight-forward punk affairs or at least they were using the energy of punk to express themselves. London Calling though, represented a complete musical change and incorporated a myriad of different musical sounds, an achievement pretty much amazing considering the type of band that they started out as. It was made even more impressive that they did it exceptionally well.
