It's like any other kind of Art, except in music we're going backwards. It's like when Bacon names his painting "Painting".
There's always something pretentious in titles, when the work of art doesn't include any words. How can anyone describe something abstract?

comparing a modern song to a classical symphony is like comparing a pebble in your driveway to a mountain in the Himalayas.
while i agree there's always a little something pretentious in naming one's creations, there's something far more pretentious in refusing to name them from either laziness or a hypocritical fear or appearing pretentious. especially when they're 5 minute pop rock overtures.
