Yeah, I'm with you there. They were the first but it probably would have died there if not for the rest of those artists. I suppose De La Soul vs. ATCQ is more of a personal taste thing than any other argument, but I guess I'd say De La Soul has a bigger influence on rapping over all, from mainstream to alternative they influenced a lot, whereas ATCQ never really had an influence in mainstream and stuck with the laid back jazz hop and didn't branch out.
