The same case could be made for the safe stuff to get in because people are more familiar with that material. It'll be way too easy for those safe artists to see a larger number of votes because there's people out there who just don't give enough of a **** to listen to different music. And then it promotes an absence of discussion from people who actually DO know what they're talking about when they decide not to vote.

Also it would be pretty hilarious to see a poll with one option.

The easiest way to keep these safe artists out of the polls is pretty simple: just don't nominate them.
