I had a similar but opposite experience. Eddie was fascinating and scary when I was a kid and when I heard the band they were 'mild' enough for me to enjoy (I have no idea what I was expecting) so I got the double benefit of hearing a band I liked and getting to sport Eddie gear which scared other people who weren't in the know. Ive got to admit that I may owe my love of Iron Maiden to whichever artist painted the cover of 'Killers'
