I think I'd be a good idea to include him in the Hall of Fame. Not only is he discussed all the time here, but I think comedians in general should have a fair shot at this.

1. Because they frequently tour with musicians, and have become as much a part of the 'concert culture' as music acts.

2. They are artists just like musicians with a spoken form of expression.

3. They share the same realm as musicians. Audio is the most common form of release for them - they have albums that can be purchased along side any music CD.

4. They can be very influential to music. The example with Hicks (as brought out) is Tool.

Some might disagree and things like "this is MUSICbanter dewd", but I'd like to point out that what we all are at heart is audiofreaks and comedy is another form of it... kind of like Television is to Cinema. We keep out DVDs of South Park or Family Guy right next to our DVDs of The Hangover and The Godfather don't we? Why not let comedians into our HOF? At the very least it's something different that we've never done before.
