Should I just go buy the songs from iTunes or Amazon? or subscribe to Rhapsody or something like that? or should I just go and buy CDs? I like buying full albums usually but I also like buying those catchy top hits singles... How should I go around getting my music? (and preferably nothing illegal)

Thank you and sorry for my n00bishness
Can't you just redownload the songs from itunes for free? I've bought games off steam and if I somehow delete all those games, I can just reinstall steam and download them again. Information about my purchases are tied to my account, so they already know I've paid for them.

Doesn't itunes work the same way?
