Lyrics are usually the part I pay least attention to, but if a band specifically is marketing themselves as a "Christian band" then it's pretty much guaranteed that a lot of focus will be put on the lyrics.
But as I was trying to say (I don't know who your comment is really directed to), I'm not bothered by the fact that the lyrics are this way as much as I am that the artist feels that the lyrics being that are so important and they want to be "a Christian band" and not "a band that happens to be Christian." As far as I know, Sufjan Stevens makes no claims or marketing specifically towards himself being a "Christian musician," although he is Christian and sometimes has lyrics that reflect that. For him, the music seems to be the more important part, and I can respect that when it is handled that way.
