I personally like a lot of the synthetic bass sound as I like a lot of Electronica and Dance but I know exactly where you are coming from as Burial can give a false representation of the genre.

The Burial/Four Tet track posted earlier (I'm sure It was first mentioned in one of my journal posts) is probably more what you are looking for.
