It thought me that 99% of people who use the word pretentious are just kinda stupid and threatened by other people being more intelligent/knowledgeable than they are so they feel the need to justify their own inferiority/mediocrity by labeling others who can actually articulate their opinion with a negative term.
Um, what else....yeah, it taught me patience. I think there's a tremendous amount of difference between me from 5 and a half years ago and the me you read now.
Talking with other intelligent people also thought me to be much more articulate and try harder if I want my opinion to be heard/taken seriously.
Musically I don't really think much has changed.
