I think it depends. I really don't like the concept of "superior" music tastes, and a lot of people here seem to believe that they have them. That's a little pretentious to me.

Many of the people on here that could be considered "pretentious" are absolutely fantastic at thoughtfully articulating why they don't like a band or an album WITHOUT coming off as an enormous asshole. That's fine.

However, there's always a few douchebags out there that seem to crawl out of the woodwork to pick fights any time someone expresses an opinion they disagree with.

(Oh, and to clear things up, I was kind of, you know, joking in my previous post. :/)
