Fom what I understood of the conversation, Big3 I think is suggesting the inclusion of an award for the best Catalyst or arguments - that no matter what they're talking about, they have a way of inspiring a thoughtful and interesting discussion, as opposed to a ****stirrer, who starts boring and inane arguments :P
Other award idea could be for the Best Mediator - i.e. the person (not necessarily a mod! though they probably will be) who is best at controlling arguments, keeping people from losing it entirely, but keeping the discussion on-topic and interesting. Note the difference between that and the Catalyst. The catalyst creates, the mediator contains, and the best poster and greatest contributor develop the threads, but not necessarily in as calm a fashion as the mdeiator does :P
In hindsight: could also make an award for the most verbose poster and the most concise poster, seeing as some of us tend to go on at length (I'm looking at you, Vegangelica!), and others manage to get their points across with the bare minimum of words.

Most Obscure music tastes could be an idea. I can see a reason to do both of these, they could be quite interesting.
Best Catalyst or whatever it would be called could be idea too. Basically, a member with a habit of making throught provoking threads that manage to actively start a healthy, lengthy topic of debate? I still dont know quite what to call it or how to define it though.

Most concise posters? Hmm, would anybody really be interested in winning one of these or finding out who did?
Best Mediator? It's an idea. I quite like it. However wouldn't this just be between mods? I mean, it is a mods job to do this. Or am I over looking something?

Best poster, in my opinion, is not very specific therefore would be covered by Member of the year, wouldn't it? I mean, surely to be the best poster here would justify you being the best member?
I would say that most annoying would be covered by biggest troll. I cant see much of a need to have both.
Most unintelligent is just a bit too negative, for my liking.
We already have a sexiest member, but do people want it broken into male and female categories? That would be fine by me.
Best threads? Well, that catalyst/thread starter award would partially cover that. And then we have best writer/best journal/biggest contributor etc. I think we have that covered?
We already have a best noob.
Scaring the noobs? Hehe, it's an interesting idea. It's quite a fun one!
